What is THCH?

Tetrahydrocannabihexol(THCH) is currently the rarest cannabinoid to date, and also one of the newest. It is only found in the FM2 strain of hemp originating from Italy. It was isolated from the plant at concentrations under 0.1%, but can sometimes be quantified in cannabis smoke/vapor. This indicates that THCH may also be a product of combusting certain kinds of cannabis and hemp flowers, and may be present in some varieties of cannabis, albeit in miniscule quantities.

It has a light yellow-pink color and appears as a distillate(thick oil)at room temperature. There is no information about its vaporization temperature. Delta-8-THCH was not able to be identified in sample strains containing THCH, which could indicate that THCH is more stable and less likely to degrade from heat/sunlight when compared to THC.

What is the Potency/Strength of THCH Compared to THC?

THCH is quite strong, boasting close to 5x greater potency versus THC, and has a duration of effect that can last 5-8 hours when vaporized, and even longer when ingested. Extreme care and caution must be exercised when handling this cannabinoid due to its potency. Even for someone with a high resistance/tolerance to cannabinoids, it is highly recommended to still take the utmost caution.

It seems that THCH may resist being deactivated by the body, and instead influences the creation of hydroxylated metabolites and shares some metabolites that share the same structure as THCP, a newly discovered cannabinoid that is even stronger than THCH. This extends the duration of effects that THCH has. It is important to note that many of the chemical assessments of THCH are only at the animal(mice)level, so a healthy level of skepticism/caution should be used when handling many of these cannabinoids.

The bioavailability of THCH may be slightly higher than THC, leading to more efficient absorption. While more potent than THC itself, the maximum intensity of THCH is only slightly higher than THC itself.

What are the Effects of THCH Compared to THC?

The effects of THCH have been described as very euphoric and recreational. There is a distinct two-phase effect where the first part of the duration is mentally and physically stimulating with a notable entactogenic and tactile effect(enhancement of emotion, novelty, changes in perception of gravity, muscle relaxation, and feelings of connection), and then gives a strong body-type effect similar to a high potency indica. Of all the rare cannabinoids assessed anecdotally, THCH seems to share the most similarities with THC in terms of recreational effects, especially in relation to the physical/cognitive euphoria qualities of the cannabinoid.

THCH is likely more useful in recreational application than in medical/clinical use, as the psychoactive components/effects are very prevalent at all dose ranges.

***Due to the potency of THCH, it is highly recommended to avoid this cannabinoid if an individual falls into one of the following categories:

-High Sensitivity to THC and similar cannabinoids.

-Has a psychological condition that impairs mood, emotion, or decision making.

-Currently taking psycho-stimulant medications such as ADHD prescriptions, supplements, or otherwise.

-Currently taking SSRI, NDRI, SNRI, or similar medications that are typically prescribed for managing depression and anxiety.

-Sensitivity to the effects of caffeine.

-Has, or currently is, suffering from addiction, whether substances or otherwise.

-Currently prescribed a medication that regulates circulatory/pulmonary(heart) functions like blood pressure.

Interesting Scientific Discoveries on THCH?

It seems that THCH resists being deactivated through carboxylation, and instead influences the creation of hydroxylated metabolites when consumed. This explains the extended duration of effects that THCH has. The bioavailability of THCH may be slightly higher than THC itself, leading to more efficient absorption. Studies with synthetic isomers of THCH like the D8 and D3 variant showed identical effects to THC at high doses, and a lethal dose was not able to be identified.

One interesting fact is that a synthetic Delta-3 version of THCH, originally called “Parahexyl”, was prescribed as an anxiolytic in the US during the early 20th century in oral doses of 5mg-90mg.

Unlike other homologues, THCH hasn't been shown to degrade into the delta-8 variant(D8-THCH), potentially hinting at molecular stability. There is a scarcity of information relating to THCH, and it is currently one of the least studied cannabinoids, partly due to the discovery of the compound only recently.

HighNorth Cannabinoids offers public availability of newly discovered phytocannabinoids for research and informational purposes only. Please treat all cannabinoids with care when handling, testing, inspecting, etc.

Current Price: $124.99 per 2000mg(2gram) THCH/HHC dual-distillate jar. We urge individuals to dilute THCH with HHC or another distillate in a ratio of at least 4-5 parts HHC to 1 part THCH.
